best tire size for quarter mile and grip?

I have 275's on the rear tires. I was just wondering how wide should someone go to get the best quarter mile results (street tires!)

Street tires, size is important, 275 is plenty, comes down to brand and type, summer performance or all season

Tire brand makes a huge difference. On street tires, wider is even more of a plus. That being said, on a 20, less is more because more tire is more diameter or/and weight so a 275 plus the slowed rotation of a 20 vs the DS and it make do OK.

I run the M/T Street Comp tires in 285/35/19 and they do great for street tires. And hook pretty well in the track.
