Forced induction is the only way to get your money's worth

maxing out with leaving the bottom end stock on the 3v is about 450 rwhp to be safe (if the tune is done right of course) and that is done with a supercharger, you MAY can squeeze a tad more out of a turbo setup but probably will be about the same limitations to be safe. Some push it up to nearly 500 but that for a daily driver is a bit on the high side.

I you have the money then max your 4.6. Personally te sound the 4.6 makes is probably one of the bast sounding engines ever IMO. I have both a new edge and 5.0 and I still enjoy my 4.6 even though I'm guessing it makes maybe 160-180whp and with my mods my 5.0 makes around 410-420whp. Just gotta know what you want, for a street car unless your willing I invest in some really good tires 400-450whp is about all you want cause getting traction is going to be difficult.

correct me if I'm wrong but didn't horsepower tv do a build a few years back with a stroked 3v 4.6 with some bolt on's like long tube headers, cai, ud pullys etc. They claimed they managed to put down 375ish to the ground? If he's talking all motor would this not be a viable, albeit expensive option?

---------- Post added at 02:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:19 PM ----------

ok found it, broke down into three episodes but they also had, heads and cams put into the build as well.

I don't see even 400 whp without SC, Turbo or Nitrous. The HorspowerTV engine was stroked to 301 and basically all the bolt ons (as previously mentioned). The netted a 113 whp increase.

K my 340 mods are full exhaust. Intake. Delete plates, pulleys, Detroit rocker cams. 4.10s are important because they lower dyno numbers a bit. Tillman Speed tune.

Did you notice a diff. with the delete plates? I have read on a lot of forums that for the effort they really werent worth it. I have heard that the U/D pullies were a pleasant surprise on the 3v. I plan on doing th U/D pullies this summer and maybe the delete plates at some point, but that depends if they are really worth it or not.

Also, My car has the 110MM JLT CAI which I know you need a tuner for after an install but since I bought it with that on there I have no idea what tuner was even used. Are the SCT tuners really a good buy on the 3v?

An SCT tuner is essential in any car you intend to mod. Pulleys and plates. Neither offer noticeable gains, they are dyno proven though. They're easy as **** to install so effort isn't An issue.
