Have it planned to sell my 06 GT Vert in the summer but only to get a 2011 GT. I feel like it would be better to buy a new gt than trying to build up this one. What do u guys think?

Imo I would build what I got. I mean dont get me wrong the new 5.0 is awesome but I love our body style so much better. And looks like you already started building her up so slap a sc on and be happy again. Or if you want a 5.0 just drop a 5.0 motor in lol

A sc would run 7000 total for a good 1 including install. And I would be putting out 450hp or so. I found a 2011 gt for 21k which I messed up by not getting it at the time. I kbb my car and it would only take hopefully 3-4k to get it.

I love my baby but fact is that ill never get the same performance out of a 3v than a 4v. Also it's an auto And I'm really hoping to change to Manual

5.0 vs 3v GT yea probably a better route but will cost way more initially regardless

I say go new 5.0 I think u will be happy bc 5.0 with bolt ons is the same amount of power as a supercharged 3v and the 5.0 has wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more potential

brand new vs a new year but a "used car" may be a difference to consider as well if rebates are not good

Exactlyyyyy and it won't be stressing the engine out as much as a sc would. A cai and exhaust would get the same numbers as a 3v supercharged

Yeah that 5.0 is a great power plant. I would definitely upgrade to the 5.0. My only concern would be the trans and you could solve that with a magnum t6060 or something. .

Just to be safe, I'd estimate 2,000k under Blue Book. We took my wifes 2012 sonata to trade for a 2011 Mercedes; The KBB value on her car was $18,500. They offered us $13,500......and it only had 12,000 miles on it. I looked at the salesman like he was stupid and told him he must think we are idiots. I got up and walked straight out. Next day they called and offered us $15,500. needless to say, she still has the Sonata, lol.

I saw another thread where u were talking bout that but I can't find any cheap ones and the 07-09 Shelby's have 500 supercharged. If I supercharge a 5.0 ill be putting out bigger numbers. What's wrong with the trans on the 11 gt?

They are not strong, like are crappy tr3560s

And one thin your forgetting is the Shelby already has a blower and forged internals and dual fuel pumps, just get a blower pulley and the 5.0 can't keep up

The tranny is not better actually. The fact that it is 6 speed is great but it has tons of documented failure under and over warranty

Same for me. Wish I would've waited now. That's a sweet deal for that GT500.

Wait till the 2015 comes out, or at least get a look at it, don't be like those 2010 guys that rushed to the new body style and didn't get the 5.0 lol

I feel for you. I test drove a 2010 and almost bought it. Decided instead to wait. I love my 03 mach but there are times when I wonder if I should have pulled the trigger on a newer mustang.

There is a manifold going in production that allows you to install a GT500 supercharger all for about $3500. It'll get you to 450 rwhp easy! It's called Department of Boost, and I plan on doing it this year!

BB has nothing to do with trade in value. The dealer would have zero incentive to offer book value on a trade in. We need to use the lowest trade in value as an estimator and haggle from there. The house never loses. Depends on how bad hey need to move cars.
