transmission leak/vent?

alright I give up, after tons of searching and googling I cannot figure out my problem. I have an 06 GT manual and about a month ago drained the fluid and replaced with new. the past two weeks I have been smelling a weird smell and for me believing that its transmission fluid. I raised the shifter boot and also moved the rubber seal and the smell was strong leading me to believe its transmission fluid. I don't have any leaks on the ground, could it possibly be venting whatever it doesn't want and getting on the exhaust? I am open to all ideas or comments because right n now I am completely clueless.

Not sure about the manuals on the 3valve S197's but the automatic S197s have no tolerance for too little or too much fluid. In the best intrest of preserving your mustang I highly recommend taking it to your closest ford dealer and having them give it a good once over after telling them whats going on. There is a possibility you have used the wrong type of fluid or have some kind of a leak and or drip that is burning off and making the smell and not allowing the car to puddle. To be sure of whats going on I would take it to the dealership and wouldnt hesitate to do it.

Well one of my dads good friends is an engineer at ford and we called him and he said there are vents and it is most likely venting but I can't tell until I get to the shop this weekend and lift it up to see.
