Unhappy Slight Pinging

Hello all. My 07 GT pings a little during sudden acceleration. The car has no mods and the gas I use is 87 ocatne at the regular gas stations, not Shell, Chevron, or Union 76. Could it be cheap or low octane gas. I know these cars should run on 87 without problems. Have any of you had this problem? Thanks in advance.

How many miles you got it may be time for a new fuel filter.

Detonation most likely, but what causes it?

Either
A. To much timming
Or
B. not a high enough octane gas

No. I bought it used. Maybe I go ahead and change the fuel filter and better gas and see what happens.

These cars run rich with the factory tunes so it may be time to change your spark plugs as they may have a nice build up on them. Also change the fuel filter and clean the MAF sensor. All do a Seafoam treatment and maybe some fuel injector cleaning additive.
