4.6 swap?

I have a chance to buy a freshly rebuilt 4.6 from a 2000 mustang for a decent price. can I swap short blocks with my 2006 gt?

It's stock but completely rebuilt, new pistons, rings, bearings, oil pump, water pump, new ford racing head bolts etc. for 400 bucks and I can pick it up.

Do you need it? Just buy a junk yard teskid block and slowly build it, if your motor blows build it stronger

I don't need it but for 400 bucks, I was going to tear it down and build it anyways. Just didn't know if it was a good idea or not. since it has new internals that I would keep and build off that

I wanted it because it's a spare short block and with almost 100k on mine now I figured why not have it. but I want to get it tear most of it down, build it and swap it out when it's done. Just wanted to make sure it would swap with no problems.

Motors aren't new to me I have been building them since I was 8 or so, including karts when I raced, mini stocks (4 cylinders) and late model motors. So I have a few wicked ideas for this build.

I would pass since the older 4.6s were cast iron and the 05+ are aluminum unless the extra weight doesn't bother you.

Weight really isn't an issue really, it's not a race car or going on a track to be timed.
