Is this that "eBay chip" that gives you "70hp"

I actually bought 3 chips....

They are all from Performancechips.com

The first is positioned behind the MAF

The second and third are o2 sensors that go in between the stock sensor and ECU.

I don't know alot about them but they did not promise 70hp. They said about 15%

take the money lost as a lesson learned, they wont give you 15% (45 horsepower)its a scam.save up and get an sct tuner, that will be the start to some real horsepower gains.

I shop summitracing.com for my parts they pretty much have everything. As for tuners youre looking at $379 anywhere. I know that AM is the Mecca for most people on here, but if everybody goes to one source afterwhile you won't be able to find competitive prices ... Ive found got great prices on summit without having to price match. I'm like "f' price matching, why is your ***** so high when they sell same ***** for less"

I buy my tunes from Brenspeed because I feel they know more about tuning, they are a performance shop first then a parts dealer

Then for everything else I share my business between American Muscle and Late Model Resto

Fair enough. I agree the big names Brenspeed and Bama Performance are safe and you know if there is an issue, they'll back it up.

Definitely a scam and don't do anything at all. Get a tuner with a tune from AM or Brenspeed

At the end of the day you can do whatever you want to to your ride as long as you like it. I mean it's your money, but some things it's better to get advice on and those chips just mindf#%* your car... Ha ha

If you go with Bama Performance at American Muscle, ask for their hybrid tune. Gives you top end power from the race tune & low end power from the performance tune. Best of both worlds!

If you buy the parts from them, yes but if not its only 10 bucks to retune

I think they have more know how and that 10 dollars goes towards that experience

Remember it's not walmart with a tuning department

It's a performance/race shop that just happens to sell some parts, they race their shop cars not take pictures of them with tacky add ons then sends you a catalog

A car's ECU has certain parameters set from factory that are blanket in every car since they aren't going to tune EVERY car so they come with an SAE acceptable HP claim based on emissions that pass all 50 states and settings that accept all ambient conditions.

These parameters include timing changes, which in itself includes the timing of all moving components. Spark for fuel burn. Fully burned fuel generally makes more power. Air/Fuel ratio over the entire powerband. Rev limiter is raised or lowered depending on where in your powerband you made your power. MPG can go up or down etc.

It is literally fine "tuning" your specific car to it's specific characteristics and tweeking the factory safe tune to an equally safe tune for your specific car.

as everyone has said, those things are bad and dont work, return them or trash them dont install them.

As far as a tune, the tuner itself is the tool, the real deal is the tune itself. Buying a "one size fits all" tune is ok for a nearly stock car but for the best gains you need a tune made custom for your car. I ALWAYS Recommend dyno tune sessions to get it calibrated just right for your car and make sure its safe (you simply never know what might be corrupt etc and 70 bucks for a dyno with air/fuel check is cheap insurance)
