Don't change oil weights from factory. It's part of how the variable cam timing functions, a different weight could screw it up.

Cousins 05 GT just hit 220k and has used nothing but 5w-30 since the day he brought it home with 10 miles..there are reasons, do your research, just not opening up yet another oil debate here

If the car doesn't burn any oil stick with the 5w-20. If it burns a bit. Go to the 5w-30. No problem with either oil really. I use 20.

If you're just daily driving the car, stick with the 5W-20. If you're going to be out racing the car at the drag strip, autocross, or hpde type events, bump it up to 5W-30, it'll keep the oil from thinning out too much from the excess heat.

I asked the same question to a guy at roush st the Detroit auto Rama and he said stick with the 5-20 unless you have changed the internals of the engine. The clearances or type of components

I use mobil one full synthetic 5-30 with not a single problem. I bought mine on accident the first time i changed my oil (was buying for my trailblazer at the same time) and freaked out when i realized i had brought the wrong one. Talked to some of my locals around this area and found quite a few who were using the same thing so decided to give it a try and like i said no problems here.
