05-09 GT mpg vs 99-04 GT mpg

So I'm still debating if I should move up and buy a 05-09 GT only because they're newer and it would fit my budget if I can find one at a decent price.. My main concern is the mpg.. For those who have owned both are the mpgs the same, better or worse.. Any help appreciated thanks.

I think it's basically the same but I think the 05-09 gt has a better body style and more hp. Get the 05-09

I get about the same in my 07 GT as my daughter does in her 03 V6. 20 City / 24 Hwy. She has twice as many miles on hers, 103K vs 46K and we are both stock : ( That will soon be remedied on mine!

Thanks for all the replies guys.. I've already checked the insurance for the 05-09 GTs and that's pretty decent too.. Now I just have to wait to find that good deal.. I'm really wanting a drop top since its summer but will settle for a hard too at the right price.. I was just thinking there alittle worse on gas than the 99-04 since the 05-09 are 3v.. Don't know if that makes a difference

I average 20 mpg in my 05. I usually get between 315-330 miles to a tank. Full coverage insurance.....$80 a month with progressive. (But, I am 26 with no tickets or wrecks)

Wow 315-330 I couldn't never pull that off in my 99gt.. So that's good then, it's about the same or alittle better.. I was thinking it was gonna be way worse compared to the 99-04 GTs

I wish I only had to pay 80 a month. I'm getting bent over for 230 for full coverage a month. More smiles per mile.
