Supercharger

Install supercharger for a daily driver? Looking at a Vortech system. Reliable for a daily driver or no?

Its reliable as long as you keep it at a safe amount of boost. Not sure how much it is on the 05-09, but its probably 400-450hp. Keep it under that on stock internals and your good.

My Vortech has a nice "whine" sound to it and great power too. I have the Brenspeed kit. Putting down 480 to the wheels with stock internals.

I've had it for almost a year now. It is my daily driver and I have no problems what so ever. That's why I like the centri charger because you are not running heavy boost driving normally only when you get on it. So it's there when you need it. I still get 19 MPG.

Kinda worried about the reliability of a supercharger being used as a daily driver. Don't think it's worth the 5+ grand

My son has the Paxton NOVI 2200 on his 2006, from Brenspeed. Makes 476 to the tires, and he has been running the wheels off of the car for 3 years. Absolutely reliable! And the whine is delicious!

Like I said, the centri chargers are better for daily drivers because peak boost happens at top of the power band versus roots chargers. So if you are just driving normal you won't be hitting 480 HP but it will be there when you get on it. Don't get me wrong, I hammer it quite a bit and I have not had any problems. It also has a nice sound to it, most knowledgable drivers will know you are running a SC when they are next to you on the road.

You need to hear a Paxton. It whines and whistles.
