Im 19 and I think that 70+ is old. My grandfather is 63 and he does WAY more than most teenages I know! He is definitely stronger than most younger people because when I fail to do something laborious, he steps in and makes it look like childs play. (I weight lift and im 6' 3" 255 lbs)

I was only joking. I am actually 49, which is old to some and not others but I don't feel old and don't act old so I guess it doesn't matter.
You've got a great attitude for 19 and are way ahead of most kids your age.

Well, I have the gears and they will be installed on the 10th. I kept going back and forth between 3.73 and 4.10 so I just said screw it and ordered the 4.10s. Should wake it up a bit from 3.31

Well, it's gear day. Car is at the shop.
Supposed to start raining for next 2-3 days starting about the time I should be picking up the car. Just my luck.

That's perfect you're supposed to break them in for 500 miles. The rain will keep you slow. Lol

I'm going to ask about that and see what he says. I guess I'm not going to have a choice.
Won't hurt anyway.

No. He didn't get it done, he says it still has a little noise and he's not happy with it and wants to adjust it tomorrow.

I don't mind waiting for it to be done right, I have another car to drive. He can have it all week if he needs it. Can't wait though.

He said the same thing that others have mentioned about the heat cycles for break in.
Drive it, let it cool for an hour, drive it again...

If it has noise it's because he did it wrong or didnt replace crush sleeve... Would be concerned with who is doing your work.

Well, I had it back for a few days. It has a whine on deceleration, so it's back to the shop. They are going to adjust the backlash this week.

I was asked to heat cycle the gears so I drove it pretty easy. I drive about 160 km (100 miles) per day. Most of the time at 60 mph, for about 70 of the miles. My average mpg dropped from 22 to 21.8

Mines an auto and it needs a new tune. I adjusted it for the 4.10 but the shifts are still messed up.
I did one wot and in 1st it hit the limiter then the next two gears shifted at about 4500.

I signed up for am tunes for life now but with the tunes they sent I can't do any more half throttle and it bogs. I went to the built in diablo tune until I have time to sort it out.

I noticed that it accelerates easier and seems to be ready in any gear. I have stock exhaust right now so I didn't notice the higher rpms unless I was looking at the tach. Still quiet. Haven't had in on the highway yet.

I am happy with the 4.10s, just hope they can get rid of the whine.

Got the car back, sounds better.

Took it for a drive on the hwy, just as I pulled on the hwy it was at 21.7 average.
Drove for about 40 miles at 70 mph and it never changed. Usually it would have gone up by .3-.5 mpg or so with the 3.31. Rpm does not seem excessive and it's ready to go. It's just more fun to drive, if I'm going on a long trip and want to save money I'll switch to 87 octane instead of the 94 I'm putting in now.

So far with regular driving I'm down .3 mpg
But I'm also starting to drive a little more aggressive... it's hard not to.

Next time I'm on the hwy I'm going to find a level section and reset the mpg and see what it gets.
I just wanted to see how much it would change my day to day average so I haven't reset it yet.

Talking with bama now to get my tune worked out. They sent me a new one yesterday and I took a quick drive and it's much better but not perfect. So hopefully I have time today to sort that out.

Part of my problem now is when I take off, I start to feel the pull and its hard not to step on it just a little more. That doesn't help the mpg.

I need a stress relief after sitting in city traffic then finally get out on the country roads... Ahhh good, a stop sign....
