Hey. So I realize it's illegal but what I want to know is how much trouble is it really going to cause me. Am I going to be getting pulled over every time a cop sees me?
Thanks!
I have the raxiom smoked tail lights for my 03 and no one cared, until the devil of the state inspection lady saw them. ****ing ***** -.- no one would care really, just avoid the lady with horns.
I got stopped once, no ticket, cop was a cool guy, told me he suggests I remove it because I can get future tickets, that was 6 months ago, I have yet to remove it haha and no stops.
It all depends what town you are in or if the cop is looking for a reason to pull you over. Some towns will stop you for your tint but most don't care.
As long as it reflects red and can be seen during the day without lighting up, it should be legal. The law does not state what shade of red, so tint is just a darker red.
I can answer this for you. I had my other stang with tinted tail lights I never got a ticket until I went to Austin. You will get what they call fix a ticket. Take a pic with the tint on then take a pic with the tint off send in $10 and the pics that's it. I used Lens Tint on mine. I never had any problems for 6 months with it tinted until I went to Austin.
It depends on how strict the cops in your area are. For instance, on an older mustang I used to have, the headlights were HID's and the taillights were tinted a little, and I never got pulled over or even followed for that matter. There have been some times where they look at them a little suspiciously, but they never come after me. I guess its a gamble, sometimes you may be caught, other times you won't.
Rustolium has a really good product I get from autozone but this time I'm taking lights apart and tinting the inside of the headlight but waiting on hids to come in
