4.10 install

If someone could help me out here it would be quite appreciated. I got a quote to get 4.10s installed on my 2009 mustang gt for $275. I just don't understand the difference between the 2 kits that American Muscle offers. With that being said...

Do I need this 4.10 set with just the ring gear and pinion gear?
Ford Racing 4.10 Mustang Gears (05-09 GT) M-4209-G410A - Free Shipping!

OR

Do I need this entire install kit (oil, shims, gasket, sleeve, seal, nut, etc) to go along with my 4.10s?
Ford Racing Mustang 4.10 Gears and Install Kit (05-14 V8; 11-14 V6) M-4209-G410A||1300||M-19546-A12||M-1225-B1||M-4210-B2 - Free Shipping!

Thanks to all that can offer me a little advice.

yes you need the ring and pinion plus the instal kit which gives you shims and new bearing, you need to replace the pinion bearing and have the nut and extra shims if needed, thats a good price for install, and for oil most places recommend a break in oil for the first 500 miles before putting in the royal purple or whatever your using...

That's a really good price to have the gears installed! I've seen some shops charge even double that, it's not the easiest job in the world to do.

As far as kit's go, I would recommend the 2nd option! You want to have all new Shims, Gaskets, Seals, Nut's etc... just in case you need them. Depending on the mileage of your car, you may not need the Shims or Gaskets, but everything else is a one time use type thing!

I hope this helps and clarifies things. Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance, I'm only a PM away! You can also hit up my CS team, Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I guess I will go with the install kit and the 4.10s. Speed Inc. in Schaumburg Illinois quoted me $275. I've been there numerous times and they are great.

I just got 4 different quotes in MD and PA. They were all around $500, not including parts. I wish I could find someone reputable to install gears for $250. That's why I am going CAI and Tuner combo as my initial mod. 4.10's or 3.73's to follow on my 08GT autovert.
