You can use your 5 speed transmission it will bolt right up its the same pattern. The only thing you havr to get is the 5.0 motor, ford racing control pack which comes with every thing yiu need to wire up. If you grt a new 5.0 motor and does not come with the alternator then all you need yi buy is a alternator kit which 226.00 and that comes with bracket pulleys belt and alternator. Then the last thing yiu need is a after market power steering kit whutch will allow yiu ti have ac still for around 1100 bucks. So yiu can do it easily but like everyonr says the cost is about 9 grand to do. My plans are to put this in my in like 6 to 8 months diwn the road with procharger.

I read on the s197 forum where "Matt D" posted his whole coyote swap progress on his 05 GT. You don't have to worry about fitment. Engine fits perfect with no problems. He measured the 5.0 compared to the 4.6 & there was no difference. His stock 3650 tranny bolted right up no problems, stock clutch, same driveshaft, same crossmember, & stock motor mounts with no problems what so over. Starter cleared with no problems with his kooks Longtubes on the 5.0. He did have a tubular K- Member & A- Arms, not sure if this is needed but it can definitely help with room & weight savings. & the stock 5.0 oil pan was used, no need for aftermarket. So you will need the 5.0 engine (6k) & control pack that supplies engine harness, computer ect ($1,500)

He mentioned the 3 problems you will have is.

1.Power steering (He went with Manual rack so took care of that)

2. Instrument Cluster

3. Making a return style fuel system

Everybody that's saying you need motor mounts, new tranny. ect.. That's needed only for the 04 & under models NOT 05 & up models.

You can find this build on the S197 forum, I just recently found it & it is extremely HELPFUL!! I plan on doing a coyote swap. currently saving up for it.

This is a challenging task, no cake walk here but definitely doable. Hope this was helpful.
