Tranmission blew

Wow, so I'm driving hard as it has been living for over 100k miles. Never had problems (always maintained it properly. Change guilds, etc.)

Boom rev goes over 7k not normal. I try see what's wrong by pressing gas more. It stay struck at 85mph.
So I pull over. Find out rear, 3,4,5 are all blown up.

So hello to over $2,000 worth of repair/labor.

Funny thing is, this happens after my tune.. .__. Ugh.

My tune was at 93 with steeda intake.
I felt it changing gears pretty hard, (like would push your head back every change of gear). When start off at 0, you're not trying to go fast. It pulls hard if you press more than a inch on gas pedal.

So here I'm wondering if this happened to anyone else?
After tune, transmission blows?

Also wondering what will be the best transmission brand to buy to replace my blown transmission?
I will like the best one, good and strong for hard drivers.

So I'm going rebuilt the transmission soon as possible.

I'm think I'm going buy parts to make the next transmission stronger.
Wanted to know if I may be missing anything.

Excedy stage 3 clutch
Excedy billet steel flywheel (racing lightweight)
Excedy slave clutch throwout
SR steel hydraulic line
Limited slip differential
Ford racing 4.10 gears

Trying to think of anything else may be needed. So I don't have to pay for gas, etc again in the future to have it added.

Want it to handle my hard driving and last another maybe 100k miles hopefully.

I am sorry to hear that you had issues. Can I ask what tune you were running? Was it the 93 Race tune and if it was where did you get the tune?

I have the same tune on my car but it's a manual and I feel the same thing by barely pressing the gas pedal but I haven't had a problem with my transmission. Did u have the diablosport Intune?

I already checked this with BAMA.

It seems my transmission simply ran out of life.
It does have more than 100k mile on it.

I'm impressed it lasted this long either way, because last owner and me has always drove it hard.

Might reconsider your driving technique. Unless you have deep pockets. Then by all means; pedal to the metal! Lol.

I don't have "deep pockets", however I always find a way to make it deep.
I shame myself if I even drove it like a slow bitc. It's a dang sport car, it's built for fun driving, hard driving.
Just gotta show it love(money) and it'll be stronger and stronger. x:

Never get married until after you have had all of your fun with your ride. Lol. Unless you marry someone who is into it as much as you. I had a built 03 Sentra SE-R Spec-V. 310whp.....that thing was a beast. But I got my 05 GT, and its totally different now. I'm just glad it has 300hp. Because it is hard to convince the wife that I "need" new Cams, lol. I spent over 10K on my Spec-V and another 5K on my 88 CRX Si. So my playing days are over until i'm retired. Then I will just buy myself a Nice GT500 or Cobra. But in the mean time, I am helping my grandpa rebuild/restore a 66 Fastback with a custom built 302. Very nice.

I do not. But I need to get one before we sand and paint it. We just finished building the motor(which I have never done before). they just don't make them the way they used to dude. This thing is a MONSTER! He says it should make 500+ when we finish. But its been slow going, like once a month we get together on it. He is 77. I just hope he lets me have it and not my drunk driving, b1tc4-@$$ uncle. SMH.....

I'd go with a one piece driveshaft with all your other goodies you're adding.

Obviously my transmission blew.

I have searched though google and bing over many posts.
I'm still quite little bit confused on gear / torque converter. So hopefully I can maybe get a decent answer off this tread if anyone cares to share their experiences.

I'm getting a super street auto transmission 5r55.

As some of you already know that I enjoy driving down in Mexico. I normally like to speed out an cruise at 140+ mph easily.

Now, most of thread/posts I've been on. It seems 4.10 is a bad idea if you're that high of speeder (140+mph)? Because of revving would be at high rpm.

So, I'm struck with this question.

Would I be better off to keep stock 3.55 gears and get tci street fighter torque converter with it?
Or would I be better off with just 3.73 as a mod. No torque converter. (I'm torn by 4.10 because of mpg and high rpm cruising. Not entirely impressed with the end top speed as well for 4.10)

I would be daily driving. Because of my ability to drive down in Mexico, I would like to be at 120+ mph without big stress on the transmission / wheels / driveshaft and so on.

I'm not big on taking right off from 0mph. So you could say I'm more of guy that drives each gear till it reaches about 4-5k rpm and then enjoy at high speed cruising down in Mexico.
But every once a while, I'd like to visit racers on tracks.

So trying to find the ideal gear for that kind of driving, and yet be reasonable for any kind of racing out on the track.

If you're getting a new transmission, then just get or with a really low # OD
that way you won't be revving as high :p
There are tons of great options
And if you're getting 4.10s you'll probably want a longer first gear.
There are plenty of options as far as transmissions.
And to keep your revs down on the highway, you could also get some taller tires (helps a tiny bit)
Personally, I recommend some 25s (kidding)

Don't be a *****, get a 3500 stall converter and 410s, you can still get up to and past 140mph

Make sure your tires can handle those speeds for doing it all the time. Like he said get a stall and 4.10 so you can launch hard and good

News!

I'm finally able to get my transmission fixed within couple weeks!

5r55 superstreet auto transmission
Going to install lowering springs suspension while doing that!

Hopefully nothing jumps and give me another (heart) money-attack.
Haha.
