I'd spend the money on a more bang for your buck mod. Like gears or a tuner or bigger tires etc...

I installed some on my friends 05 v6, took me about 2 hours to do it. It will prob be harder for you since you have less space to work with

Here we go again. Use the Search feature, there is plenty of information on the Shorty or Long Tube Headers.

Took me about 4-5 hours for longtube installation so the shorties shouldn't be that bad. It should be a breeze for the shorties! Tips are: have a second mind with you and have them pick up a case to keep you chill!

Shorties are not that bad to install. I put a set of FRPP shorties in my 06 GT, the performance difference was negligible. I installed the FRPP shorties in because I busted a stud installing my x-pipe.

I installed shorties, a pypes super system, and prothane bullet poly engine mounts in just under 9hrs with a dinner break and running around to find a jack and pipe to lift the engine while the car was on the lift..... hand wrenching in top motor mount bolts and getting all the header bolts all started......... just pass me the turds now.

These are not just shorty headers, but shorty headers from hell.

I installed shorty headers a few years back and it wasnt too bad. I used a lift which made it much easier. With out the lift I could see it being abit of a pain. I personally didn't feel any performance gain tho, but I guess if your getting for cheap , then go for it . But for 300 or whatever they go for wouldn't be worth it.

I just installed pipes shorties a few weeks ago I did not think the install was all that bad its a lot of work don't get me wrong your not going to slap them in in an hour I did mine in my garage with the car up on jack stands. Remove the battery and battery box, remove the starter, disconnect the steering shaft, unbolt and jack up the motor then remove the motor mounts from the block . After that you will have all kinds of room to install the shorties.
I also installed a BBK X pipe with HI Flow cats and a Hurst shifter at the same time took me most of a weekend but to be honest I took a lot of breaks and was not in any hurry

ALSO make sure you use GOOD gaskets my car has developed an exhaust leak at the passenger side header pretty sure its the gasket the gaskets that came with my Pypes shorties looked kinda cheezy but I went ahead and used them any way (sucks to be me right now) I tryed retighten all the header bolts but I still got the leak you only hear it on start up untill the exhaust warms up then it go's away but it still bugs me so FRPP header gaskets are on the way and I will be pulling the pasenger side header this weekend fun fun fun

Shorties shouldn't be too tough. With a lift I did my full exhaust (long tubes to mufflers) in 5 hours.

The process for the long tubes and shorties isn't very different if any. It still requires removing certain parts like the battery tray, steering linkage, and loosening the motor mounts to life the engine up enough to give yourself some room.

My ARH longtubes were a snug fit but they never touched anything.
