Researching

I am 20 years old and have a 97 red stang with a 3.8 V6. At work I just got a promotion and I want to get a newer gt. I am doing all the research now. Any tips on where to start with typical problems or anything? Or where to look for deals?

Got mine for 18k with 34k original miles. So you sound in the ballpark.

I got my 2005 gt with 7300 miles for just over 18k. If I could go it again I would get a 2007 or newer so you can get the auxiliary port already in there.

+1 that is a minor inconvenience for sure, but you could easily install one.

I got my 05 for 15k last year with 50k miles on it and I love it...i started out looking for a termi but I couldn't find any nice ones in my price range. If I were u tho I would wait a little bit longer and get an 11gt

It depends how well the previous owner took care of it and if they kept up with routine maintenance

Paid $20,000 for my 2009 GT Premium with 18,000 miles. Problems...None so far, but the AWFUL wheel hop this car has.

And with my 2005 there is a recall with the gas tank or something so every once in a while the gas pump will shut off after about a gallon thinking its full. The only other complaint I have is that the trunk is super small. Other than that I absolutely love my car.

I would say find a termi but you really can't go wrong with the 05-09.i have a 10gt premium.although I now have a chance if I play my cards rt i can get the 5.0s but really don't want my insurance to jump.to me i have the best of the 2 still have a 4.6 with the new body.but look around and don't jump on just any car.find one youll be happy with and with a good deal.

Ok cool
I have been doing some research online and it looks like it is a solid car until you start modding it a lot and not doing it smart.

But take what the other guys have said into consideration as well.be smart choosing you car and when you do get one e careful when you get bit by the mod bug.youll end up going broke.im trying to save up money for a whole new suspension and rims and tires and then save up for a full exhaust and blower.but all in time.good luck with findin your ride

Bought my 07 GT Convertible last Feb with 42K miles for 16,500. One owner, well taken care of and loaded! Premium Pkg, appearance pkg, Nav system with Sirius, heated seats (don't need in FL). Bought my son's 06 V6 last June for 10K. Definitely like mine better! 07's got a new clutch and the electrical system was supposed to have gotten better in 07 and on. I wish his 06 had the Aux port as he would us it a lot more than me! All I listen to is Sirius. I don't think you can go wrong with an 05-09 if you check it out good before you buy. Use Cars.com or Autotrader or something like that and you can find some good deals if you are patient. Drove from Ft Walton to Orlando for mine and to Birmingham for my son's.
Good luck on the search!

I just bought an 08 bullitt for $22,000 with 9,000miles. There are plenty of nice cars out there for under $20,000. Just take your time and find the right one.
