Cams or Gears?

What should my next mod be, gears or cams, and why?

You'll feel like you got more for your money with gears.

Borla stingers, hurst short throw, pypes offroad h, sct x3. Car has 3.55s at the moment. Would there be/feel like a big difference with gears? I know the cams wil give a lope but will it change the tone of exhaust or make it louder/quieter?

With the gears you would notice it a lot. Makes acceleration awesome. The cams would be nice too. I'm sure your car is loud as hell but the cams you would get power and that nice lope

I don't mind doing a cam install myself that's not bad, and my exhaust already sounds smoking IMO. So gears make a big differenc

I say do both but I would do the cams if it was me. I LOVE a cammed 4.6!!!!! They sound sick. But if you are looking at performance the gears would be very noticeable

I'm thinking gears first, install cams myself over winter along with turbo. Good plan? Need insight on gears from people with 4.10s.

I gained somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 whp. I have both cams and gears and they work great together so if you can do both.

Agree man. Cams will give you more power mid-top end and gears help you stay there. What cams do you have?

If your going turbo the car I would stay away from 4.10s. From what I know it makes first gear pretty useless. But I'am pretty sure if your willing to handle that kinda of acceleration it would be a wicked ride!!!!

4.10 gears natural aspirated makes first gear useless without a turbo. I only used 2,4 and 5th gear when I had 4.10

I was implying a turbo would be too much with 4.10 gears. Which also makes first gear a waste. And yes when I (had) the 4.10 gears I would start in 2nd then shift to 4th then 5th. If you have ever driven a stand with 4.10 you would know.

I get what he is saying about skip shifting because I do it. But I do it strictly for gas mileage

I sometimes skip shift 1-3, not as easy when you still have 3.27s

I daily drive 410s big guy, for about 40,000 miles now, use first all the time, in fact every time. And a turbo with 410s would be a match made in heaven, 410s would get you outta the hole faster and diminish the turbo lag, and keep you in the RPMs aka boost.

If your worried about traction with 410s and a turbo get Better tires, Nuff said.
