Custom H-pipe question

My neighbor runs his own machine shop and is going to build me a custom h-pipe. My question is, do all the O2 sensors get re-used without the Cats in place?

Ya but I am designing a box in place of the pipe. Kind of like the mac prochamber. But yes. Pretty much just deleting the cats

You can reuse the O2 sensor without the cats all you have to do is drill holes the sensors will have a snug fit I did it and it worked just fine

Did it cause a trouble code because of the absence of the cats?

Your check engine light will appear all you have to do is disconnect your battery for ten minutes, and turn the key and press the horn while still disconnected and the light will go away because the computer reset its self

Here is some of the progress on my H-pipe. Tac welded to the table and cut out the pipes to weld in the plates to form a box. Just experimenting to see if it makes a difference.

Honestly, it didn't make a difference. I figured replacing the pipe with a box would cause more sound deflection but nope. Back to the drawing board lol

Updating my thread here. I have been experimenting with gutted cats and found that they cause way too much echo after being gutted. So today I decided to take some time and remove the cats all together and replace it with more exhaust pipe. What a difference in sound!! It is a completely different sound than what my gutted cats were. With pype bombs, my car definitely wakes the dead now! Just figured I would update this. Anyone looking to gut cats, I HIGHLY recommend just taking them out completely. My total cost for this build was $60. Cant beat that!

Ya. I just cut off the ones from the old gutted cats, drilled a 5/8" hole and enlarged it just a bit then welded them on.
