Help ASAP

In the process of ordering a bama tuner is it okay if you use 91 for all tunes? I always put 91 and don't wanna be switching back and forth from octane gas thanks.

Torchredfrankie,

Running all 91octane tunes isn't a problem in the least! As long as you have access to 91octane or higher, you'll be set. It's also not a bad idea to ask for an 87octane tune in case you run into a station that has poor quality fuel or only 87octane.

The beauty of owning an SCT SF3 is the tuner can hold up to 10 total tunes. Plus, you're enrolled into our Free Tunes for Life program and have access to as many tune combinations as you wish. So, I'd suggest picking up your three favorite 91 octane tunes, then submitting another Bama tunes request here to ask for another 87octane street tune. Once all the tunes arrive, they can all be stored on your SF3 hand held.

If you have more tuning question, feel free to call up one of our Bama Tuning Specialists at the number in my signature. They'll be more than happy to answer any of your questions!

Shane

Can some explain to me the difference between the 3 tunes? I have never owned a tuner so I do not know why they give you an option for street, performance and race tune. Always was an import guy before my Mustang guys so please excuse my ignorance when it comes to this.

If you go to the American Muscle website and select a tuner, there is a description (on the bottom right) of what the differences are for Street, Race and Performance tunes.

no problem, I would've posted up descriptions, but I was on my phone so it wouldn't have been the easies thing to copypasta back and forth between windows.

just an easy break down
normally something like this but octanes vary between locations & its all personal preference like everyone said. getting just one octane can be iffy depending on where and how often you travel

87 octane street/economy mode
89 octane performance mode
91/93 octane race mode
