Late model restoration did a videos series where they swapped a 5.0 coyote into a sn95! Recommend you find it on YouTube and read up on the page a bit.

Welcome and keep in mind that the 4.6 3v is no wimp of a motor either.

Enjoy your car!

Just my .02 but instead of a new 5.0 crate engine, why not do a forged rotating assembly, new heads, and some cams! You'd be very happy with it I'm sure.

That is cool, but I disagree with the term weak. When is 300 and 320 considered weak? Also Roush is pushing 435 with I think 5lbs of boost.

It was a fun car, but I got beat by a full bolton/exhaust coyote. Went to dealership that same day and got a 5.0.

You cant conpare a 427 roush to a new 5.0... the roush only put down mid 300 hp. 435 was crank hp. On 5 pounds its nothing too special... my car went 11.7 on 10 lbs and I would love to see a 5.0 do that....

Actualy a stock 437r puts down about 365. And 11.7 a bolton 5.0 can easily do that.

The 5.0 has been into the high 9's completely NA with weight reduction. No turbo. No nitrous. No supercharger

Like I said mid 300 hp. And most bolt on 5.0s go mid to high 12s. On slicks low 12s. Ive never seen one go in the 11.7 range.

Ive driven plenty of 5.0 and they are stout but they didnt impress me that much. Stock vs stock they are the best mustang to come out but even a bolt on 5.0 cant get into the 11s. Sure if you cam it. Port and polish heads. Boss intake. You probably could but why spend a couple grand just to touch 11s. I wouldnt trade my whipple gt for one.

Needs a better driver then. Bc 11.7 is easy for a bolton 5.0. Like I said 5.0 has been 9's. Completely NA

Im not going to get into a argument over this but that is not a typical bolt on. That car has 25k in the motor alone. Which then makes it a 65k car.

Sweet. But to say 480 hp is a joke is a joke in itself. A basic bolt of 5.0 doesnt get 11s easy. 99.9% are mid 12s

A basic 5.0 can hit 11's easily. We arw showing you that they are in the 9's NA.

Im not getting upset because I dont care. I will take my car and beat 99.9% of 5.0 gts that come to the line. Sure if you invest 20k in a motor it will run 9s or 10s. Until I see a basic bolt on 5.0 runs 11s consistantly then I wont jump on the bandwagon

Who makes the call on what a basic bolt on is? You? A KB is considered by some a bolt on..........and some consider it something major. We are talking headers, intake ect.
