Red leather door panel

A few months back I purchased an '05 Mustang GT with the red leather (my favorite part of the car, next to the V8 of course), but there's one problem. The red door trim on the driver side door is missing. It annoys me to no end and it makes the inside look ugly and incomplete. Does anyone possibly know where I could buy JUST the red panel trim? Instead of replacing the entire door panel itself? I've talked to Ford about it, and they said I'd have to replace the whole door panel, which would run me around $600. Does anyone know where I can get just the red trim? Thanks!!

Send a message via Skype™ to 99ford
I'd talk to an upholstery shop you should be able to get a better rate than $600 I'm in the same situation myself

You could probably find it online and do the work yourself.

Yeah I'm sure you could find it cheaper than that.

same thing happened in my Ford Escape. The leather peeled off. i just bought some industrial strength spray adhesive and put it back on. Haven't had a problem since. But a local upholstery shop should be able to do the work for pretty cheap compared to replacing the panel.

You could always scour the junkyards for the panel too.

I've checked online to no avail. I've found door panel replacements for Fox Body Mustangs though, but no S197s.

Yeah it sucks haha. My passenger one peeled off, but some spray on cement adhesive and it's good as new. I'm gonna call around locally and see if I can find any upholstery shops. Hopefully it won't run my wallet into the ground lol.

I have the Red Leather as well. I had to super glue my trim pieces because they were coming loose. No problems now! Check out a junk yard or something.

My hopes are slowly fading away lol. Red leather is so rare that finding it in a junkyard is slim to none. And upholstery shops in my local area don't work on cars.

The guy I got my car from didn't include the red trim with the car. He threw it in the trash long before I bought the car. I could've repaired it myself had he included it. But it is what it is right? Haha. I'm just glad the car runs and functions A-Okay.

Find some red leather you like and do both doors yourself since finding the exact ones are going to be hard. By putting another type of leather you will make it your own style.

I think all the GT premiums, V6 premiums and Shelby's, Cal Specials for 2005 to 2009 will have leather to fit your car.

Is it an option of just across the board ALL PREMIUMS? And if what you say is true, we should be finding a ton more of that leather >.<

I dug out my 2007 brochure. Leather was standard on GT Premiums and all the other GT specials or Shelby's. But even on the V6 Premiums it was still an option. So I was mostly right but not completely.

Any 05-09 Mustang really. Mines a Deluxe, not a premium, so yeah lol. Idk if V6s had red leather or not, possibly though.

There is a nice alternative available in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Mag Jan. 2014 issue. Predator Mustangs has a kit the looks better than new. Check it out..

Looks a bit "ricey", but not as bad as some of those dash trim kits.

Is that a plastic piece? Or is it a piece of leather? And I'm sure you could probably install just the big red trim and leave the other red tid bits off.
