Mod help

Good friend at work got a 2008 GT in white. Also it's a manual with 55,000 miles. The dealer swapped out his stock rims to the ugly 22" rims. I know, damn used car salesmen. Anyway, he wants more power. He has a set of, what looks and sounds like flowmaster 40's. The same on my 11 v6. He wants more power. I'm no GT modder and I know more about carb engines than fuel injected.

I suggested a CAI for lower torque but mainly throttle response and a upper manifold for the higher rpm ranges. I need ideas of what to tell him. He is on a budget by the way he talks but he is saving to buy this all at once and have me install it all. Thanks guys

1. X/H pipe
2. Hand held tuner with 93 octane tune
3. Cold air from Steeda, JLT, FRRP, or Air Raid
4. Lower control arms (Ive heard SR makes good, inexpensive products)
5. Axleback - Corsa sounds amazing, Borla, SLP, Stingers or Pypes
6. Kooks Longtubes
7. Ford 4.10 gears
8. Steeda Underdrive Pullies

These mods are in no specific order...

Better than average driver will be running 12s with those listed

Trust me he was pissed when he found out they switched the wheels just to sell the other GT on the lot. And since it was sold he got stuck with them. Then the same place wouldn't pay for tires because they were bald and blew. Almost $900 for them and after a few raising hell moments they finally paid for the tires instead of him.

Is an upper intake manifold worth anything with a tuner. I know the 5.0 benefits are pretty good from it.

Upper will not help much at all unless you have long tubes and camshafts, by its self you will only see little to no gain 5-8 RWHP

At least they are a familiar 5 spoke design and not something out there.

So to start, under drive pullies and a CAI and tuner combo? What's that worth. I thought GT's responded well to anything unlike the v6

That he is. He likes to open the car up for speed runs. I think he wants more acceleration than anything.

Ik everyone is going to hate me for saying this but I would first get handling mods Bc mustangs are slightly heavier than these little imports and can easily spin out and our wreck and mess up the whole car.

Get a strut tower, anti sway bar, lower it, etc... Then do all your bolt on mods

Probably 320hp to the wheels. Give or take 5hp.
