Getting a new car?

I know this is a mustang forum but I want honest answers. I'm seriously considering trading my 05 gt in for an 08 Evo x. What do you guys think?

If its a straight across trade, like you don't have to pay a dime, do it. If you have to pay ANYTHING over $1, 000, then not a chance in hell.

You didn't recently lose a race or something did ya'? People always get discouraged by that. Keep the Stang, mod it more and move on.

Exactly. If you have to spend thousands or finance the rest to get an evo, then you could just mod your stang and blow away just about anything on the street

I have but the price just doesn't verify it if he already has the stanf with great modding potential also.

I was looking at a few Evos that were about 23k. I do want awd, and I am obsessed with turbo cars. I also feel that since it is already turboed out will be easier to modify. Everybody on the Evo forum said to get the Evo unless it was a 5.0 lol

Just cant really mess with the bov like most turbo cars. They don't work as well converted to venting fully to atmosphere.

Centri supercharger you can have what looks like a turbo and depending if you go draw through or blow through you can make it have a bov vented to the atmosphere. Vroooom pssssh

The 2JZ can take so much more beating than any Mustang can. Came forged with a turbo, just crank the boost up and have fun.

So you can even trade an 05 for an 08? That's a little odd, so next year an 08 evo is even trade with an 03? Seems like you could do more to the mustang and have better value.
Youngsters are drawn to the sparkly shiny objects. Lol

I have never seen a supra for sale around here. But I figure, 4 cylinder= better gas mileage and lower insurance. My car is pretty much brand new also but I don't want to risk putting a turbo on it and something blowing up on me.

The Evo actually doesn't get that great mpg either. A guy on here has a 99-04 v6 and the evo get just slightly better mpg.

Personally i'm a rwd type of guy. But set up right AWD can be really fun. Just look at Ken Block's car.

It's like comparing apples to oranges really IMO. Which car do you like better? Both have performance so it really comes down to personal preference. I think the cost of the EVO matters too though like the guy above was saying.

As long as you have a clean carfax and no issues with the car then you should be able to get another $500 out of it. And that's max clean trade for the vehicle.
