My buddy just had everything in his mustang switched to Royal
Purple. They told him no flushing was required.

maldog is right. There's absolutely no need for a full system flush. Simply drain the old fluid out and pour the Royal Purple in. This goes for anything from engine oil, to transmission fluid, to rear differential fluid!

I'm assuming your referring to switching to RP oil though? If so, I think you'll be very happy with the way your engine runs after the switch. All of my cars seems to run smoother and I've never noticed an increase of 1mpg or so.

Post back when you make the switch. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Shane

I'm curious how many miles you have on yours. I've been wanting to do the same on my 05 GT.

Not a problem, my pleasure!

Yes, using RP oil has been known the slightly increase power and economy. The oil seals the piston rings more efficiently and most oils, which helps reduce blow by and increase power. Also, RP tends to be a physically lighter oil, while retaining a strong viscosity. This again helps reduce weight and friction on your rotating assembly.

Hope this helps!

Shane

Brad Penn sells a lot of high grade oils for many apps. Located in PA. Yeah I dont have a retailer local for Amsoil either, I just order off the web. Their line of oil filers the "EA" products is best out IMO. Just make sure NOT to toss a Fram filter on her.

I just switched oil and trans to royal purple a few weeks ago and I can tell the difference on how the engine runs and shifts. I have 145k miles on mine.

My father-in-law uses Amsoil in his Taurus and he swears by it. It is a little pricey but seems to be worth the extra moolah. Think I am gonna give it a shot in my 08GT. He ordered it on line and had it in a couple of days. 5 quarts ran about $65 with shipping.
