Clutch

Who's upgraded the clutch in their s197? I'm looking between the exedy stage 1, 2, 3, and 4, and wondering what y'all would do. It's a daily driver but a racer too.

No need for stage 3 or even 2 unless your making power jumping into a stage clutches with now power can hurt your tranny. For a Mustang with full bolt ons I would only do stage 1 that's all.

If your doing cams you might as well go stage 2 but just be prepared for a stiffer clutch

I'm ok with the stiffer clutch, but I'm trying to get this thing as powerful and fast as possible.

Why not just go stage 3+?

My cobra has a stage 2 kit in it, and the pressure plate is bad, so I'm replacing it all and going with something stronger, sure he won't make that power unless FI or NOS, but why not have the security of never busting the clutch?

They funny thing is my friend has a 02 gt with super charger and he runs a clutch from o'reillys that he has to replace about every 6-8 months just that's the first thing that goes and nothing else will get messed up. I'm running a stage 2 in my mach with out to much wear on my pressure plate but I'm saving up for a pro charger so when that goes on bye bye stage 2

Yea my 2 is going out and the forks rattle and click, annoying as hell, and the ToB is starting to go out as it whines a little more than usual lately.
So why not? Add a heavy duty fork, and replace the cable to a new OEM, new fire wall adjuster and metal quadrant and I'm set up to 800ft/lb

If you have a stage to and don't have a fire wall adjuster is part of your problem of why yours wore out so fast.

Most people would think only 15k on a clutch that's horrible. I think you must drive you car like I drive mine

I got a deal on a Centerforce DF, it had 7k on it, and I picked it up for $60 bucks. Just waiting until the one in the car goes and this one will be going in.
