Go to 4th or 5th gear hit the gas and if your rpms raise faster than your speed you prob have a bad clutch

When my clutch went out on my Z28, it just got really soft. The pedal would stick really bad.

The clutch can slip on any gear! Usual signs are higher release than normal and the lack of free play that is present in normal systems. When a clutch plate and pressure plate are performing correctly the vehicle should start moving forward when the clutch pedal is a quarter of the way up. Not completely disengaging but enough to get the car crawling. If this is not the case then either your clutch has to be adjusted or replaced.

Are you 16 and a half?

Completely kidding. All clutches are a bit different, my test was always to drive up a long hill and press gas in 3rd or 4th and see if the RPM raise faster than your actual speed.
