Loud clicking noise

My car started doing this a lil while ago, when I turn the key to on, the slot right before cranking the motor up. On top of dash in the middle it makes a real loud clicking noise for like 5 seconds. Does anybody know what this could be?

It sounds like a relay of some sort, but I don't know what would be up in the dash. I'd start tearing the dash apart, and recreate the issue.

It's part of the AC. Turn your AC rotary switch to off and it won't make the noise. Until you turn it on. There is small switch box and one of the switches goes bad and it's stuck and clicks. You are supposed to be able to get to it by removing the glove box. I've bought the newark but have not had a chance to install it yet.

Ok I appreciate the help, that's what I needed. The clicking is annoying the crap out of me.
