Lower ball joints

Need some info. 2 different auto shops have said my lower ball joints should be replaced. So my question is:
1. Can I replace the ball joints myself.
2. If not, does the lower control arm need to be replaced by a professional and will this affect my alignment?

The cost to have the ball joints replaced professionally is about the same as if I were to buy the control arm assy. So I would prefer the latter.

You have to replace the whole lower arm. Takes about 2 hrs to do and patients. You will have to get an alignment afterwards also. Hit me up if you need me to walk you through it i just did my drivers side yesterday. I wrote a whole description a sec ago but it didnt post. I spent 70 bucks on my cotrol arm and its oem quality and rides much better now

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely hit you up about changing the arm.
Where did you find the replacement arm?

Ebay. Looks just like the ford one same weight same dents divits everything. There was just no way i was spending 3-400 bucks on one and it still has the same possibility of going bad as my 70 dollar one. Plus after install and driving on it i can say its a good tight part

Try Rockauto.com. Thats where I got the Motorcraft A-arms for my car. I think they are about $135 each.
