engine build

alright so I found a 03 romeo block to start a build on during the next year and swap in my 06 gt next spring. I know so far I will need the adapter plate for the block to mount in my existing chassis. what else should I be looking for?

What are your goals and plans for the engine build? This way I can tell you what you need. I am currently doing an engine build.

umm goals really are just to get the parts that need to be forged, well forged. mainly the rods and pistons. I want to throw a decent shot of nitrous at it and even in the long run be ready for a decent amount of boost from a centri kit or super charger. My plan as of at the moment is to find a block, the deal I had when I posted fell through due to the guy selling it to someone else after I already made a deal. So I am stuck looking for a block now, really searching for a WAP, Romeo, or Cobra block. Any will do as we all know it.

Why use a new block? Use your factory block. Its good for biiiig horsepower. The weakest are rods, then pistons, then crank. Crank is good to about 600 safely. Looking for a block is completely useless.

which I agree with everything you said, not denying that. But, this car is my DD and it is kind of hard to do all this in one weekend so if I get a block, even the same as the one I got now I would build it. I am trying to get a block though so I can spend all summer getting it done and then swap it and not worrying about not having a car.

You could do it all in a winter. And if you're running nitrous and planning on boost (I have to suggest turbo) then im assuming you store it for the winter.

haha yup! it's not to bad out today, so you see my reasoning for getting a block and doing it aside when I have time and it also lets me gather misc stuff for the build/swap as well. But I believe I will be going with a teksid block, if I can ever find one close.
