Run Hard and Put Away Wet

The only thing we can figure it the car was owned by someone who took great care of it for the first 170,000 miles, then sold it. The last owner maybe got into trouble and, knowing it was going to be repossessed decided that if he couldn't have it, no one would. The car in question is a black 2005 GT with a red leather interior and an automatic, showing 175,000 on the clock. The dealership I work for took in in knowing it had a wounded engine. (no oil or coolant and the engine made lots of improper noise)

We bought another 4.6L low mile engine and we now have an extra 4.6. Are these engines worth rebuilding? I have been in to hundreds of Ford FE's, 289's thru 351's but never a 4.6. Anyone know of a good source for information such as a basic rebuild guide?
Thanks
