Cluster problems

okay so i bought my 05 GT almost a month ago. Manual. When i bought it the RPM gauge wasnt working so i had them look at it before i bought it and they said they needed to order a part for it and gave me an "We Owe You" slip and i still havent heard from them, was gonna call tomorrow. Went to the gym tonight and noticed my speedometer was showing faster than i knew i was going and at a complete stop it sits at 10 instead of 0!

Not sure what to do here or what the problem is. I assume they should have to fix this, it hasnt even been a moth since purchase. I also bought a 1 year warranty with a $100 deductible that should cover it oo if i have to go that route.

Any suggestions or info?

2005 have stepper motor issues with the instrument cluster. A lot of people fix it themselves. You should be good with your warranty. Although, they should fix the instrument problems outside of your warranty, since it was an issue at the beginning.

Try searching this one, I know some people have done. Also search YouTube for stepper motor gauge repair.

i believe there was a recall on some early mustangs and f150 w/3v motors that had cluster reprograms, but from what it sounds like is that u just have a bad cluster, at the dealer ship they can use the ids a view pid data on the ic a perform a gauge sweep and also watch the speed sensors and rpm readings to see if it is a sensor related problem instead. most aftermarket warranty that we deal with will cover gauge cluster replacement, but won't cover the cost of the 2nd key that u will need if one is needed for pats.
