Underdrive Pulleys and sound system

So I am looking at UDPs for a quick bang for the buck upgrade but unfortunately I don't think it will be worth it for me. I have a pretty decent sound system in my mustang (2 12" CVXs with a 1000Watt kicker amp powering each sub). I understand that UDPs take some power away from accessories in order to conserve it for the HP. So will my sound system suffer from this? if so by how much?

The UDP's reduce the amount of work the engines requires to rotate a little bit and frees up a few extra ponies, but in turn it lowers the output from the alternator. I think with a stock sound system it's ok, but with aftermarket amps it can be a problem. You would need to install a higher output alternator in order to make up the difference.

With a higher output alternator be prepared for some slightly fluctuating currents. As in your lights slightly (very slightly) dimming at idle from being under acceleration. This shouldn't be damaging even for your amps.

That's what i was afraid of, dont think it's worth all the trouble and money just to free up a few more ponys. Thanks for the input guys!
