how do you cali people do it?

i hear the smog tests are so hard if you even have a CAI you will fail...so does everyone just drive around with stock cars for dailies, i always thought they had the biggest crowd for modified cars. I hear a lot of u guys take off ur cai and go to stock tune for the emissions test. but what about people with supercharged mustangs?

They are the largest support group for our hobby. Without SEMA, we never would have had the certification of performance parts to make them smog legal in the states. I realize it's a chunk of money, but without them, we would not have the aftermarket performance goodies we have today. Many of your elected officials wanted to crush the car hobby; SEMA fought, and continues to fight for our rights, for both the consumer and manufacturer of performance parts.

They are kind of like what the IRA is to gun control laws.

At the very least, just check out their site (home page), and get an appretiation of what they do for the automtive performance hobby.

It depends, some counties only make you smog on change of ownership. But most do every two years, my buddy has a completely modded 350z, and it passed just fine

Bucko, are you Irish?

It's NRA...

I live in a county in CA that does NOT require emissions testing every two years.

What county is that? Because at the moment I'm currently in San Bernardino county. Got stationed in this crappy state and then I have to be in the desert at that!

Haha.
Nobody likes California... I just don't understand it.

I live in Lake county in northern CA.
San Bernardino county only requires emissions testing if you live within certain zip codes, so you may be in luck.
In CA it's generally the sparsely populated counties that are exempt from emissions testing.
