Whats next on the list for mods?

Should I go with underdrive pullies from Steeda? SR?

or

Brenspeed Detroit Rocker cams or Hot Rods?

or

Mac longtubes, bbk or pypes?

Any suggestions? I know that cams go hand in hand with long tubes, but I just had an x pipe installed and it isn't the shorty x pipe. Is it even possible to fabricate something for long tubes to fit on a non shorty x pipe?

Steeda

Brenspeed cams

Mac or pypes

And it's best to buy the shorty x pipe and sell the other one instead of hacking it up

I did cams first, I felt a little gain but when I did headers I felt the increase in power big time

I didn't dyno the car yet but based on my trap speed I picked up close to 45 hp with the cams and headers
I went from 104mph to 109mph in the 1/4 and to be honesty every mod I did hurt my MPGs but the headers improved it buy 3-4
I went on a rode trip and avg 19.9 at 65-70 and put headers on and went on a trip and I was getting 24-25 mpgs at 60-70

Alrighty, very cool. I heard the Detroit Rockers will help put down some better numbers compared to the Hot Rods. As for the mpgs, thats pretty nice the headers helped you out a lot. Good stuff.

If you have the extra cash to spend, use the Steeda pullies over the SR's as they replace the harmonic balancer, instead of an attachment to the factory unit. The SR pullies certainly still work, it's just nice to have a full replacement.

Both the Brendspeed cams & Hot Rod camshafts have solid driveability and power gains. I don't think you can go wrong there either way. I'm most familiar with the FRPP Hot Rod camshafts, as we've tuned a ton of these cars. They really thrive with LT headers, as BaSohol said.

Lastly, I've used MAC headers on my Mustangs in the past. Haven't had any complaints and they fit very well. BBK makes some nice headers too, so this is again up to you. I'm sure you'll be happy with either. However, I'd sell your current mid-pipe instead of fabricating it to mate with LT headers. Fabrication will be unnecessarily costly and you still won't have a guaranteed fit.

Hope this helps with your decision some!

Shane

The brenspeed cams generate higher gains because they seem more tuner friendly. The Hotrod cams, while they do not seem to do the same, can as I know of someone running 12.1s on FRPP cams.
