New to s197

Okay so I recently purchased a 2005 mustang gt black 1 owner 75k miles for 13k
Just sold my 03 gt and and upgraded to this one
It is completely stock but have already order my flowmaster outlaw axle backs
Was wondering if a bbk 62 mm throttle body, charge motion delete plates will make a difference ( came across a deal)
Do these mods really help much together and I also plan on getting an intake for it so as well so my question is will I see a significant gain with the mods mentioned?

A good friend of mine bought his 08gt new. The best responding mods he done to the car was swapping 3.31 for 3.73, custom jms tune, one piece aluminum driveshaft, then adding a vortec supercharger. The axle backs, midpipe, cai really didnt do to much. I know that's not the mod question you asked, this is the only info I can give to you. Might be worth something to you later.

Damn dude I got my 06 gt premium for 14k otd and it had 20k miles :s

If u want ton of power, s/c+gears

Some dd power, cai+tune (actually adds quite a bit)

Reliability and coolness, aesthetic mods + tune

Hey,

Congratulations on your new ride, you will love it!

As far as you mod lists goes, I think it is a solid set up, particularly the intake and throttle body will pick you up some big gains when paired with a tuner.

When we tested just an intake and a Bama tune on an otherwise stock 06 GT we saw a pick up of 35RWHP and 30RWTQ! With the throttle body and charge motion delete plates you will see even more than that.

I hope this information helps, and if you have any questions, feel free to get back in touch. Good luck!

-Dan

BBK TB used to occasionally have issues being tuned. Not all of course but a good tuner can get them in line. Delete plates are decent, too. Now, the money they cost vs the power they provide is a matter of opinion. A Throttle body will almost literally do nothing for you until you are in higher power levels. They can often help with some throttle response but a tune will do the same.

In my car I added every part possible. But I left the smaller gain stuff for last. Delete plates, TB and Pulleys I did last as they provide low to modest gains for not so modest prices.

Now, buying used will further help justify (not that you need justification) the mods.

Intake itself gives 5-8 WHP in a perfect scenario but tune/intake combo will net you more power than all those other parts combined for a reasonable price.

So would you recommend just a tuner and a cold air intake? Will the gains be noticeable?

Noticeable? More than any basic mod most likley. You can expect 25-35 WHP and a huge jump in torque throughout the entire power band. Easily Knock .3 tenths off the 1/4. It will be night and day.
