Electric Cutouts

Im considering going with some electric cutouts but had a few questions. First off, how would they work with a tune? I have a bama tuner already but would i get a tune for having them open? Would that mess anything up when i close them? Second, what's the life span on them? I have looked at a few brands like pypes and qtp. Any and all help is appreciated

A good quality kit should last for just about forever. And no you don't need a tune for them since you won't be daily driving with them open, at least most people don't. Flipping them open for a couple minutes isn't going to make your computer go wonky and hurt the car. My choice of product would personally be QTP

They won't change the drone at all. They just make the car EXTREMELY loud when you press a button. It's not something you put in the exhaust to change the tone slightly.

My friend has them setup right after his longtubes on his mach 1 and it sounds so awesome. It's insanely loud but it's a nice crisp loud. Not obnoxious sounding.

Electric Cutouts

I have QTP cutouts and love em. I almost always run with them open. It's loud I guess but not crazy loud unless I'm throttling it. Mine are probably closer to the mufflers as opposed to the headers. It sounds like it means business but doesn't sound like I have no exhaust.

I have a Roush charger and running a Roush safe tune and have 0 problems.

I get 0 drone at any RPM. Personally, I think it could be louder.

Is your tune for them open or closed?

You don't need a tune for them. If you have cats, put them after the O2 sensors.

Does anyone have the remote control setup? I might be interested in that if it works well.
