Automatic trans options

Been building this car for a while and the list goes on and on. Car will be a 600 RWHP car or bust when it's all over with. And the stock manual transmission even with a clutch just won't cut it and I don't plan on just going with a input shaft swap. Was gonna go with tremec but I keep thinking about an automatic. So, someone please either talk me into an automatic, or out of one. And list some good automatic options I could use. There are tons of manual options I can choose from, but I can't really find any good auto options. I'll be using the car for mostly a drag racing purpose on and off the street.

My friend 08gtsc knows a guy with an 05gt with an automatic. He has a stall full kooks exhaust & supercharger. Im not sure on the details but it's a 11 second car and the engine has never been touched internally. Go with the automatic you won't regret it. I'll get him to post up some details for you.

Okay cool. If it's just a stock 05-09 trans with a converter I'd be kinda skeptical though. Anybody know if the new 5.0 transmissions will bolt up?

Im going to try and contact my buddy tonight to post you all of the details. That guy with the 05gt is using the dactory transmission. I help you do some foot work on the 5.0 trans, I believe it will work. Wiring and tune will probably be the only hard part.

I'll look into it tonight at work. Seems like somebody has had to do it. Those things are SOLID. Cars running 9's and faster with the stock trans

My friend with the 08gt is going to swap to an automatic once his 5spd bites the dust. Im thinking it cant be much being the 10gts housed the 05-09 drivetrain.

I'm really thinking about it. It's be a lot easier to consistently launch and shift.

My friend johns uncle has the 05. Its has aV2 making about 12-14 LBS of boost. It has full exhaust. Stainless works long tubes with I think borlas. The car hasnt had the motor hasnt been built. It has 410s and a stall. He said the stall made a huge difference. I have been told its about yhe tune on autos. You have to have someone that can tune the transmission as well as the engine or it wont run. It will put down great numbers but no times. His car only has about 13,000 miles on it. It runs like 10 90s
. I know he hasnt had the transmission gone into. I might be able to get his number he is in Florida last I know. I know the new 6spd autos are wicked. I have a friend her in baton Rouge that has went 9ss with his 12 with a stall, long tubes, stock muffles and a blower. I believe you have to have the new computer to run the new transmissions. Maybe thats why dont see many swap s. Good luck

Sounds good. My friend john did a on3turbo setup on a fox with a 363 stroker. Car was crazy fast. He went 8s. He got his when on3 was just starting out. He had nothing but great things to say about him and the product.

Nice, i have a thread about asking questions for parts right now, but sooner or later I'll be making a build thread with the motor pull and turbo kit install and such. It'll be a very long process.
