Hello all, I am new to the site and have a question for you. I was driving from Denver to Rhode Island in my 2005 Mustang GT and had a possible transmission failure I believe. I was driving in 5th gear and when I gave it gas to make an exit I heard a loud pop and grinding. My car was stuck in 5th gear and I could not get it out. After some playing with it I was able to get it back into neutral as well as shift through gears 1-4 with no problems. When driving though it makes a clinking noise which I believe is coming from within the transmission. Almost like something is loose inside and just clinking around. Any suggestions would help! Thanks all and have a great day.
Replaced Transmission But there is still a knocking
I am new to this site.... So like all new folks dont beat me up to bad. So I replaced my transmission but when I am in 5th and after the car warms up a bit there is a knocking/clinking sound that happens. It is really noticeable in 5th gear around 2000 to 3000rpm's. It sounds like something bouncing around. Any ideas?
