What's with the craigslist crazies?

Lately I've been seeing a ton of people on craigslist selling stangs for like twice their bb value, ie: a 2005 GT 'deluxe' with over 100k miles for 12 thousand dollars rofl. then they throw in the words 'immaculate', 'mint' and 'rare' and that some how raises the value.

This is the kind of crap you'd expect from the cummins crowd.

Well now i feel dumb! How did I miss that one?! A sport GT that's never seen rain?! Museum quality car right here. I should go look for the guy with Dubs on his forrest green GT vert, with a decent amount of miles asking 13k. Guy has been trying to sell that thing for years on CL lol

Here's the car I was referring to. He swapped out the 22's for a smaller set. But still asking 13k for it. Lol.

I talked a bunch of crap about craigslist and the people who use it until I decided to sell my 03 Focus. Within 5 minutes I got a call from the eventual buyer, and within 15 minutes my phone was exploding. I sold the car for top dollar too...

Not a bad resource if you can put up with the crazy people.

But were you selling it for an inflated price? This is what this post is about...folks asking for inflated prices on their used Mustangs...

I use craigslist all the time. About a month ago, i sold a set of 7/10 chome wheels, with the chrome starting to flake on the very inside. Guy came to my house, said, "I'm not gonna waste your time haggling on price, heres your money." $400 crisp 100's. It's a great resource for average people. Just, So many idiots that think their crap is gold.

Craigslist is great but you just have to be smart. I'm not sure who still falls for the money wire or certified check scams but apparently people are still stupid enough because I always get scam emails like that when I am selling something. Besides that its just like any classified except way more visibility.

And like any classified, you will always get ppl who have some ridiculous idea in their head of what their stuff is worth because it is THEIRS and they live in their own universe or aren't used to hearing the word "no" or all of the above. Its a crapshoot.

Personally when selling a vehicle on there I put right in the ad "no test drives unless cash in hand or cash deposit, any checks must be cut at your bank in person, be prepared to go to MVC with me to do the title transfer on the spot". Too many issues with tire kickers and once got a phone call where some dude was driving around a car I sold him with old plates from something else and title had not been transferred because he didn't want to pay the sales tax/transfer fee etc...
