Need help

I am the original owner of my 2005 Mustang GT and have experienced serious problems for the first time. It began running extremely rough and when it was at a stop it felt like it would stall out. I am not mechanical at all, so I have a friend working on it who I trust who has 30+ years experience with truck engines of all sizes. Aside from putting out about 17 different codes he found that there was oil in the intake manifold. Is there anyone out there who can tell how serious a problem this can be and does it sound like I'll have to take it to a Ford dealer. This is my first time on any forum and I'm just hoping to get some ideas. Thanks

The oil in the intake is common. It's coming through the PCV system. That's a lot a codes. What codes are they?

Thanks. It seems for some reason the air filter came loose and dirt was getting in the engine. That was tightened up, the throttle body assembly was cleaned ans the MAF sensor was replaced. This worked as the car is running well now, but I realize I will have to change the PCV valve assembly and clean the intake manifold. As far as the codes, there were communication codes, oxygen sensor codes and others that I don't remember at this time. Thanks again for your response.
