Question Bama SCT SF3 Tuner & Custom Tunes question

All,

I have a question about custom tunes on the 05 GT and have the SF3 tuner. I know Dan and others from American Muscle monitor these threads so whomever can chime in would be awesome!

I've been running custom tunes for about 1 1/2 years since I picked up the 05 GT. I recently added the GMS Throttle Body and grabbed some replacement tunes (free tunes for life member) from AM and Bama. I noticed that when I went to load the new tunes I didn't see any options for changing Octane, CAI, or Throttle Body when I went in to the tunes to check them out. Strangely enough when I go into the "Strategy Tune" option on the tuner instead of the "Custom Tune" section I DO see these options and am able to change them. My guess is they are hidden from me in the Custom Tune section so I can't change them?

The reason I ask is because when I got the 3 new tunes I felt like my car took a step backwards as far as HP and Torque. This is why I noticed the tuner programming differences and was checking them out to see how they were set up. I DID contact Bama for 3 new tunes, but only to change the octane on the perf tune. When I loaded the new perf tune, this time it felt like it was tuned correctly.

Was it a coincidence, I don't know but I just want to make sure something isn't up with the tunes and tuner. I haven't had a chance to call Bama to verify so in the meantime I figured I'd pop on the forums.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about anything! It sounds like the first set of tunes Bama sent you had all the settings locked. Not sure why but I'm glad to hear everything is in good shape now and the octane is right with your tune.

If you'd like to check with the Bama team again you're more than welcome to. But I wouldn't sweat it!

Hope this helps.

-Dan

Thanks for the reply, Dan! I knew you'd likely chime in. Saw a video recently with your Stang. Nice!

Just a follow-up it appears that settings are still locked. The car does seem to respond much better now but when I go in I still don't see any of these options in the tune(s). Also noticed that in the Strategy tune it only shows the BBK throttle body. Is there not custom settings for the Granatelli? Anyway if I can get 10 minutes today I will give them a ring. Haven't had a chance!

Definitely! I'm always hear to help you guys. Thanks for the kind words! I love how the car turned out and it's definitely a blast to drive.

Just give the Bama team a call when you get a few minutes. They'll straighten everything out very quickly!
