2010 overheating

I have a 2010 and last summer the fan resister fried and caused it to overheat. The local ford dealer fixed it and it lasted nearly a year but now it's doing the same thing. It's not the thermostat as it's brand new and I have checked to see if it's working. My fan sometimes doesn't kick on when it should. Almost like it has a mind of it's own. Any ideas as to what's up?
