code and fail safe help

Hey everyone. My 05 gt has intermittently been going into failsafe mode. Finally tripped the CEL and pulled the codes p2106 and p2135. Local parts store diagnosed it as needing to replace the pedal assembly. I called ford and they said I need to replace the entire throttle body. So what is it? Anyone had the same issues. I bought a new throttle position sensor a few weeks ago but haven't put it in. Any advice or experiences is much appreciated. The car is stock minus an x pipe and axle backs.

That's not too bad! Ford quoted me $300. Guess the TPS I bought wont fix it! I saw there was a tsb on it but im not under warranty. Not too excited about needing a new throttle body after only 77k miles.

Really? I have the new tps sitting in my glove box. Maybe ill throw it on and see if it fixes it. Any special instructions or just take it off and put in the new one? I read something about checking voltage of the old one

It should just be a quick remove and install since it's just the sensor, but it's always a good idea to check the voltage reading. This will show you how to check it, as well as adjust it if needed: 05-09 GT Throttle Body Install

I just replaced it. Since your putting it on the stock throttle body I wouldn't think the voltage would be an issue. Wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery

Thanks for all the input! Its frustrating ford says I need a new throttle body, and the local parts place said I need a new pedal assembly. Since I already bought the TPS ill throw it in this weekend. Update to follow! Will the CEL go away? Even though the battery disconnect should clear it

The CEL should clear when you disco the battery. If not, your local parts store can clear it for you.

Sent from your mom's house.
