So the ohio laws states you have to allow 50% light through the side windows. So pretty much anything I have put on will probably be illegal. What % should I get to not draw to much attention? It's not a daily driver, but I do take her out 2 or 3 times a week.

I'm in the same boat as you (except my GT is my DD), I have 40% or so all around from the previous owner, but may go to 25% or 30% on the door windows, 20% on the side windows, and 12% on the rear windshield.

I wouldn't go any darker then 35%, especially with a black car. Cops around my area really don't care about tint % unless you're being a total idiot driver... Hell, I've been driving around without a front license plate for almost 3 years and cops just look the other way...

When you say there are better ones out there, is the one I have bad for my car? I don't know much about this, so this is why im asking. Is there better ones that would give me more gain than the one I have?

Do the one that you will actually notice, window tint.

1. No. It should still be an improvement over the factory intake. However, with all oiled filters, over-oiling the filter can be potentially harmful.

2. Yes, but unless you plan on making big power it won't be worth it, your K&N CAI should be getting the job done on your stock motor.

There are other CAI that have larger diameter tubes which will increase air flow. These require a tune whereas yours, requires no tune and is plug and play. No idea on how much hp/tq that you'll gain but it's something you can look at...

Here's what you have:
K&N Mustang FIPK Air Intake Kit 57-2565 (05-09 GT) - Free Shipping

Here's one to compare too:
JLT Performance Series 3 Mustang GT Cold Air Intake CAI3-FMG-05 (05-09 GT) - Free Shipping

This is the one I have...there is a removable sleeve inside the tube that get's removed when you get it tuned...otherwise you can leave the sleeve in it and a tune isn't required...
Roush Mustang Cold Air Intake 402099 (05-09 GT) - Free Shipping

I would probably keep what you have a move on with other mods first...these are also hitting the used market now with people trading up to newer 5.0's or the 2015+, so you could probably land a better used CAI for half the price or less... Keep peeking at the classified section...

Air flow is controlled by the smallest diameter orifice in your intake system which is the TB. It doesn't matter how big the CAI tube is, it still is limited by the TB diameter.

I agree with "2 Stangz" again, My Performance Shop also told me that it is a waste of money buying Larger Throttle Bodies, the OEM is fine.

So no matter how big of CAI you have, it's all restricted by the TB size? So if I kept my factory TB and got a bigger CAI, I wouldn't see any gain? I'm just trying to figure this out here.

No... I explained this already, it comes down to how much power your motor is capable of creating and handling. More power = more air (and of course fuel) needed.

I'm willing to bet if you purchased a Steeda or JLT CAI (what most say are the best CAI's on the market) to replace your K&N CAI and kept your stock TB, you'd still see some gains from the better CAI. Keep reading...

The TB doesn't become an issue until let's say 400 horsepower. Obviously, a CAI upgrade won't get you to 400 alone. The stock TB is still efficient until you start adding UDP's, long tube headers, off-ride midpipe, cams, etc.. Making a lot more power than the stock TB was designed to support. Because now the motor can make more power and will [try] to suck more air in to make that increased power.

Lastly (might want to know this), when you 'upgrade' parts on your motor, you need to have your car re-tuned otherwise it'll be a waste of $ (essentially).

I.E. - #'s are made up: I have a stock GT with stock intake, capable of sucking 700cfm. I upgrade to a larger CAI of 850cfm, that's it (no new tune). Go for a test drive, no noticeable power gains. Why? Because the car's computer thinks it still has the 700cfm intake on and that's how much air it knows to suck in. With a new custom tune (with the new 850cfm CAI configuration included), the motor now knows it can suck more air in.

This goes for any part really... CAI, TB, UDP's, headers, midpipes, and of course adding cams or a supercharger requires a new tune for the engine to even operate safely.

Man there's so many things that could be done to these cars, hard to figure out which way to go... I'm' debating on either getting a quick shifter, or the under drive pulley. Which one would you do first? opinions? Thanks!

If you go darker then the legal limit, a piece of advice would be to have the back darker then the passenger and side windows. It doesn't stand out so much.

I would start a new thread asking for shifter opinions or do some searching. I have an auto so I can't help.

My bubbles went away in a few weeks. I also left it outside my garage in the sun during the day. Don't know if it helped but my small bubbles worked their way out.
