Tint or throttle body?

I want to tint my Windows and upgrade my throttle body. Which would you do first? I can't afford to do both at once.

It has the stock 55mm throttle body. The SR Performance 62mm Twin Throttle Body (05-10 GT) lets more oxygen in, my buddy told me to do this. So this isnt a good idea?

Until you upgrade your intake/heads/cams/intake manifold OR go super/turbocharged, there's really no reason at all to upgrade your TB. A larger TB allows for more airflow but that's only if the motor can suck in more airflow to begin with.

You can install a larger TB but you'd most likely see minimal to no gains at all right now. Especially since you've still got the factory air intake (which definitely can be upgraded for noticeable gains on the 05-09 - but really only one that requires a tune).

I have the 3v 4.6 like you, although mine came with the 2011+ factory cold air induction system.

If I were you right now, I'd buy a Steeda CAI. Next, aftermarket LCA's and UCA to address the factory traction issues. Lastly for now, would be long tube headers with high flow cats (have to have cats here).

I do not ever plan to get a larger TB unless I do what I said earlier (heads/cams/intake manifold OR go supercharged).

If you're looking performance, I'd look into a CAI to pair with the tune or look at under drive pullies. Either of these should net you more gains then TB.

Steeda UDP's are great too for 'bang for the buck' factor. I personally don't think I'll be putting them on my GT anytime soon however.

Haha alright so you have more than a K&N filter... That would be what the market would call a cold air intake. So what people commonly do next would be to get under drive pulleys. I think they offer anywhere from 5-15 horsepower.

Ok cool. I'm new to this so I'm not exactly sure what things are. I bought it like this. It only had 9100 miles on it when I got it.

Probably won't supercharge. I don't have that kind of money. I just want to get the most out of it with things that don't cost a fortune. I mean I still making payments on this thing. I love the sound of the thing. I want to get the windows tinted.

Very nice 'stang man. Get the tint done now. After that, I'd say what you'd need next are a good set of control arms next. Reason being...

Our 3v 4.6 stock on the factory tune is a alright, but when I tuned it, I was definitely surprised on how capable it was (with just a custom tune). The first thing I noticed was tons of uncontrollable wheel spin launching. So next mods HAD to be suspension (otherwise power mods would just make the wheels spin even more, essentially).

I'd go tint as well. Your typical street stang will have a tune, CAI, exhaust, and possibly gears, which you have. A simple suspension bolt on will also be a tower brace, which you have. After that, you're looking at more engine type mods for power (UDP, intake manifold, tb, etc...) and suspension and tires to lay that power down. Unfortunately, once you get past the easy stuff, it can get expensive when you look at cost vs hp/tq that you gain staying naturally aspirated which is where forced induction via a supercharger or turbo setup comes into play. For you, the next easier type mods will probably be appearance...tint, quarter louvers, plenum cover, etc.. along with some simple suspension parts mentioned above.

Let's make sure this is the stock under drive pulley since I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Here is a picture of what I got.

Tint or throttle body?

Ok that's your water pump pulley. Your kit should replace that pulley.
I believe it should replace 2 or 3 pulleys.
Water pump ( in picture) to the right not in picture- power steering. And possibly a idler arm pulley( to the left) to make up for the size difference. I think that may be all.

Yeah I wouldn't even consider it tint, just UV blocking film.

Yeah but it will effect the reading that a cop will get if he uses that tool to test your tint won't it?

Correct... Actually, I think it's closer to 80%. So if you choose 35% which is legal in most states, it could come in lower then that if it's tested. My 35% tint (Mustang was purchased out of state) tested at 28% at the MVA...so to get my MD inspection certificate I had to remove it. Here's why: Tinted Windows & Other Vehicle Violations

Here's where the trouble begins. When you place a 35% window tint film over a vehicle window that is already blocking out
20% of the available light, you have now reduced the LTV to 28%, which is ILLEGAL! Why is it now 28%? Because you
started with a piece of glass that was already blocking out 20% of the available light, and you are now placing a
35% tinting material on a piece of glass that only had 80% availabe light to start with. (.35 x 80 = 28%)
That means you are now blocking out 72% of the available light, leaving only 28% to pass through.

After I got it inspected, I just re-tinted it back to 35%...sucks but couldn't do anything about it.

I don't get "inspected"here in ohio. But if a cop wanted to be a prick, then he could test it..
