Manual GT Launching Tips

Hey all,

I'm new here to the Mustang Evolution forum so feel free to flame me if you like. I was just hoping to find some tips on launching my manual GT for good take offs. Basically just looking to quicken my 0-60. Right now I have Pypes off road x and catback. 235/55/17 tires, 3.55 gears, and a bama tune. Currently running a 6.6 sec 0-60. The stock 0-60 on the 3 valve GT's is 5.0 so i guess i just suck at driving any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Mike,

My best recommendation would be to get some seat time at the track to get as comfortable as possible. Picking up something that can measure your 0-60 times would be beneficial as well. After that I would take a look into Control Arms as they're going to help prevent wheel hop and traction loss. Let me know if you have any questions and I'm here to help!

Alex

New tires will help you out so much more. Those 235/55s are trash.

Do the BAMA tunes and programmer do a lot for a stock mustang? I understand as you put performance parts into your car you can get new tunes for each mod for free which is awesome.

Madison,

Definitely! It's one of the best mods that you can have on a Mustang. You're 100% correct on the new tunes as well. Once you're to purchase any customer tuner from us you're automatically enrolled in our Free Tunes For Life Program meaning if you install a new throttle body or set of long tunes down the road you shoot us a call and we have a new tune written up and emailed over to you! Let me know if you have any questions at all, I'm always here to help!

Not sure if useful or not. I have run about a 1.7s 60ft time at a prepped track here in Dubai, but humidity and sand was high.
I run Nitto 555 Extreme Drag Radials at about 14 psi, Steeda adjustable coil overs set to max height and mad softness, a 100hp hit of NOS, but everything including the clutch and shifter is stock.
I tried launching with and without the traction control, fast or slow release of the clutch, and rpm between 1500 and 4000.
I found the best for me n my car setup was about 2500rpm release the clutch at medium speed as the slip helps level the power to the wheels, but as soon as clutch starts engaging hit the gas to the floor. This was with TC off and a 2 second burnout
