Exhaust system

I have axle back Bassani on my mustang right now that sound okay. They put out a low rumble but only when started and at around 1800 rpms. Other then those times they aren't low and throaty. I am trying to choose between flowmaster outlaws, flowmaster American muscle, or borla. Which will give me a crisp loud throaty sound? Which is the best in your opinion?

American thunders are too mellow for me. I put my outlaws on not too long ago and love them though

Is there a certain point yours goes loudest or does it just keep getting louder?

The Flowmaster Outlaw is pretty loud and will really wake up your Mustang. They do have a slight drone to them up top but nothing horrible. I have the Corsa Extreme on my 2011 GT and absolutely love them!

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the exhaust systems you listed, though.

Hope this helps! Let us know if we can be of any assistance. Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. At some point when going through the rpms the tone just changes and it doesn't get louder.

I've noticed that on my chambered muffler setups, my straight through setups would always get louder until redline. That could be the deciding factor, or it could be something else.

If I put a offroad h pipe on my car will it require a tune? Or is the tune just recommended so the engine light turns off?

You'll want a tune for an offroad mid pipe. It'll remove the engine light due to not having any CATS.

Is that all I would need a tune for is to remove the check engine light?

The reason I ask is with cams corsa sports or extreme sound good at idle and good under acceleration. But if you never plan on getting cams go with the borla stingers cheaper and sounds amazing with a off road pipe.
