Why does a 500 HP 3v not touch the 420 HP 5.0? Narrow torque band?

I said a 500hp 3v will run neck and neck with a 420 hp 5.0

But yes the way the 5.0's bring on and carry the power band, is what gives them the edge, the 5.0's flow air at a unbelievable rate.

Huh interesting. I test drove a 2013 GT not too long ago and wasn't too impressed. It didn't feel much faster than my 09. I'm not really a car guy though so what do I know

They need a tune. Bone stock they put down 370 + for a manual. The stock tune holds them back.

But they have been mid 12 ' s bone stock with just a tire out back. 100% stock no tune nothing

Yeah that sounds about right. My car came with some sort of tuner from the guy I got it from. I went from stock to the race tune and it was nignt and day.

Come to think of it the throttle lag was most likely why I didn't care for the coyote, just didn't feel alive.. Maybe it's time for another test drive..

Hey Rap how much do you think a 100-shot kit will run me for my 3.7? I got quoted at $1800 at my local shop.. seemed a little high as kits can be had for $1200 with everything online. Any kit you recommend?

Nitrous outlet, will be the best for the 3.7. As they are the only ones with a plate kit right now.

Was that price installed?
What all was included in there quote?

I'm on Nitrous outlet now, I had been looking at these kits originally. What's the difference between a hard-line plate system and just a plate system? They're $50 apart.

http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/efi-wet...ne-system.html

Anything else I would need besides that kit? Doesn't look like it has a bottle warmer /remote opener switch etc.

I read Ish's write up on here so I have a decent understanding of how it all works.

All they said was that it would be a full "wet" kit for 100 shot, and it would be $1800 including installation, but I would have to go elsewhere for a tune as they don't have a dyno

Hard line is going to be less volume from the plate to the noids for 1, ( will hit harder and cleaner )

Less lean spikes usually

Also is alot cleaner looking install wise.

You will need a warmer, purge , window switch, blow down tube if wanted, plugs, remote opener if wanted.

See what all was included in there quote.

I think all of that was included. They said it was literally everything needed to run it from the trunk. I will run by this weekend to check. They also said I could bring my own kit and they would install it for $600-$800 depending on how complicated it was, would have to find somewhere to go get my own tune though

Best bet is to find a shop to install and tune all at the same place

I'll run back down there this weekend and see what I can come up with...
my friends getting his piece of s--t Honda turbo'd by them for 2.7k.... he bought his own turbo off ebay for $400, .63mm ceramic ball bearing t3/t4 to save some $.. They said they'll have him at 300-350 HP at 6-8 Lb.s of boost depending on what his engine can take.
The only thing that sucks is they don't have a dyno... so you gotta find your own guy... they do mostly ricers and JDM crap, a few older 'stangs and camaros but never a 3.7 I don't think they said

I don't think I can install it myself... not something I wanna risk a first time job on a pretty new car.... I feel like I could tackle a SC or even a turbo with help from a friend.... but nitrous seems tricky to get just right

Install is pretty straight forward, just a bunch of wiring to due.
It's a plate kit so it's simple install.

Only time you have a critical install is, with a single nozzle. Distance from throttle body, angle installed in the intake tube etc, all had a big role

Have you considered a turbo? They add more horsepower and dont have that annoying whine(my opinion) and cost about the same as a supercharger.

I love the whine! Turbos are a tad bit more expensive and can't be installed by the average Joe like a supercharger can. I did a supercharger on my 2v in a couple hours, then towed it to the tunimg shop. I wouldn't know where to start with a turbo, tapping into the oil pan seems especially risky lol
