3V GT vs Z06!?

What would it take for my 3V GT to keep up with a Z06 at the drag strip?

What year z06? If your talking about the c6z06.

For a 3v you will need alot of boost or alot of nitrous. You will need at least 500 to the ground at a minimum on a 3v. To beat a bone stock c6 z06

I'm thinking if getting my 3V to 340 at the wheels with (intake, tune, headers, stage 3 cams, under drive pullies, x pipe. Then strapping on a 2.6 Kenne Bell.

Possibly, but like I said. You will need a minimum of 500 to the ground in a 3v to take down a stock c6 Z.

A 550 hp sti is going to be nasty, have not seen one run personally with that kind of power so I can't give you a definite answer on That one.

You will need a 4v. A 3v won't be enough.

If you ever plan on doing a supercharger then don't do underdrive pullies because you will have to take them off to run a S/C, just fyi. I honestly think if you run a S/C with 10 psi, intake, LT's&X-pipe, 4.10 gears, drag wheels, water/meth and tune. I think you would fair pretty well against it? Just my 2 cents!

Nah then you would have to turn into a total prick and act like your crap don't stink just because you have a bigger engine block LOL It wouldn't really cost that much money...I mean if you have the 3v already and just looking to beef it up you can do alot and only go up from there. That's what I did, I love seeing guys in vette's they think I don't have crap but a exhaust and then when we go my boost kicks in with my water/meth and I just smile when they drive up and it's the same comment.....that isn't stock....No sir it isn't thanks for playing!

I don't know how it's not racing when we both leave from the light...and they have to catch up to me to talk LOL. But the coyote engine on average is about 380 to the wheels so they still need some things just not as much because of the head start. I haven't dyno'd my car lately but I've got a good amount of money into my car which is why I hold my own against the vette's. I love the Z06 but I still pick my car just because of all the money dumped in now LOL sometimes I wish I had the new 5.0 or a new Shelby but the best bang for the buck is always a supercharger with some boost....and forged internals!!!

Yes but I'm not talking hp #'s. But going by #'s a 3v will need more Hp than a 5.0 to be just as fast.

Horsepower sells cars but torque wins races- Carroll Shelby....so with that...I would say you can build a car with a good amount of HP's but torque is what will pull the car harder. 5.0 have a good head start with 380 to the wheels, wish I had that kind of head start, I would be over 600 by now LOL

Im just talking from personal experience with the 3v's. I has a supercharged one. They need alot more work to be fast

While I wish it wasn't true cuz I have a supercharged 3v, coyotes can run 10's with lots less work than the 3v. Not to say the 3v isn't a good capable engine. I saw one with a twin turbo 923RWHP. But I know the point your making. Easier to be fast in the 5.0. Can you pulley your saleen blower down anymore? You got forged rods and pistons... I know your working on that Audi too though and your multitasking with your mods. Lol

It's not all about #'s.

Hp sells people. But that's not always the case. I have beat plenty of 07 and up gt500's on motor alone. ( never even had to open the bottle) same with the zl1 camaro. Even though they had me by 100 at the ground.

My 450 on motor vs there 540-560

Sorry I am deployed and the internet sucks so I didn't really get a chance to respond. But I have my block built by QMP in Cali(good people) bored it 20 over, saleen blower on the 3.0 pulley making 11-13ish boost, GT500 dual fuel pump, tri ax short throw,160 themostat, bbk LT's, X-pipe, pype bomb axle backs, water/meth, saleen extreme cai, exedy mach 600 clutch kit and flywheel, one piece aluminum driveshaft, 4.10 gears, upgraded axles still 31 spline, eaton diff, axle braces, trans brace, bmr lca's, probably forgetting stuff....oh just an email tune from brenspeed so not even using my water/meth really........and yes if I upgrade my injectors and Maf I could probably pulley down to the 2.75 which makes 15 psi....

I'm not really looking into doing this 5.0 swap and ****. Yes the 5.0 is awesome but I wanna say that I have a 3V GT that can hang in there with Vettes. As for what mods do I have? Absolutely nothing. Just some Flowmaster mufflers which are not getting me any where to taking down a Z06. I just don't know where to start. I want my car to be in the 11 second range. I know weight is against me but I really don't care about that.

Z06 ' s have a hard time hooking at the track. Go from a roll and you will see exactly what I'm talking about. Like I said I had a 3v sold it quick.

Hard to claim hanging with a blown c6 when they are not hooking/ can't drive
Not trying to come off as a *** but it's the truth.
A 3v with 10 psi is not going to beat a blown c6 z,
Supercharged C6z 's will run high 9's low 10's all day when they hook. And a 3v at 10 psi will not.

If you get suspension down, wheels tires and a violent launch you will be able to run with a supercharged c6 heads up.

It's just harder to get the 3v's up to par with a vette.

Thats why you should just go after other 3v's and camaro. And the ws6
